About Virtual Harar

A gateway to the walled city

Virtual Harar is a digital tourism platform for Harar Jugol, the walled historic town in eastern Ethiopia that UNESCO inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2006. It brings stays, cultural experiences, heritage places, local guides and virtual tours into one place where you can discover, plan and request a booking.

Who is behind it

The platform is built and run by Icons Technology together with local providers. Every provider is checked by our team before it can publish, and every listing is reviewed once before it appears.

What we promise

We show what is live and what is still planned, we calculate prices on our servers, we keep your details to the minimum a booking needs, and we say plainly that we are not an emergency service.
